Nils Christian | General Manager | Mētis Construction

Joining Mētis as a structural and finish carpenter in 2012 and then becoming an owner in 2016, Nils is now the General Manager of Mētis Construction. He is responsible for overseeing daily operations, contracting, compliance, accounting, hiring, and the company’s long-term growth and sustainability strategies. Nils and his team are frequently the first and last points of contact for every project that Mētis performs. Crafting a positive and lasting impression for our clients is especially important to him. Nils finds his job incredibly rewarding as Mētis endeavors to become better and stronger every day. He has played an instrumental role in nearly every project Mētis has performed since 2015.

Nils brings nearly 30 years of diverse residential and commercial construction experience to our company. Prior to Joining Mētis, Nils was the owner/operator of a strictly residential company in Seattle, which helped prepare him for his current role of General Manager today. Previously, Nils was contracted by Dale Chihuly’s glass studio for five years as an art installation specialist, in-house builder, and building operations manager. His most notable projects being the renovation of Chihuly’s Boathouse, Mock-Up Facility, and preparations for the Mohegan Sun Hotel, Mayo Clinic, Bellagio Hotel, the Salt Lake City Olympics, and the Jerusalem Project. Passionate about the arts, Nils has also helped design and fabricate a number of kinetic sculptures for the Burning Man Art Festival, he plans on bringing his 11-year-old daughter in 2022.

Nils studied anthropology and played soccer at the University of Washington. He holds a baccalaureate degree from the United World College of the Adriatic and has filled his passport traveling and living abroad extensively. Nils is a lifelong resident of Seattle and was a childhood neighbor to Sebastian Kimura, our Operations Manager. Outside of work, Nils enjoys long walks with his family and dog, drinking soda water, watching reruns of Survivor, coaching his daughter’s soccer team, and spending time in the great outdoors of the PNW.
