Each day millions of children, teens and adults do not have a pair of shoes to wear. Life without footwear affects their health, education and financial well-being.
In Dec 2022, we partnered with Metis carpenter, Carlos, to provide shoes and socks for his hometown village of Vila-Vila in Bolivia — where he has seen first-hand the challenges of people in his community not being able to purchase shoes for their families. Through Carlos’ heroic efforts and Metis’ contribution, he was able to travel home and purchase tennis shoes for kids ages 5-18, traditional sandals “abarcas” for the adults, and socks for all. Carlos and his family also served a special traditional Christmas Day meal for his community to enjoy together while receiving their gifts of shoes and socks. Thank you to Carlos for all you do!
