The Snoqualmie Harvest Kitchen has been an exciting yet demanding project, pushing everyone involved to rise to the challenge. From snow, biting cold, and rain to knee-deep mud, boulder-laden soil, wild winds, and elusive utility lines, nothing comes easy in the mountains. To keep progress steady, the team has tackled this project in stages, resulting in finish carpentry and earthworks unfolding simultaneously across the site. Despite the hurdles, the fresh mountain air and peacefulness is something everyone appreciates. Now, as the structure begins to take shape, there’s a collective sense of accomplishment—especially after what felt like an eternity of digging, layout, and plotting.

Abby, PK, Seb, Andrew, Gabrielle, Mimsy, and Grant form a powerhouse team—assembling like Voltron to conquer obstacles, emerging victorious each day, and walking off the job site in slow motion like heroes.
The design is best described as an elevated take on a classic pole barn. When complete, the space will feature a game processing room, a harvest kitchen, an open-air gathering area, a covered gathering area, a greenhouse, and a scenic nature path. The warm lighting on the fresh cedar makes the project look like an artists romanticized version of a building—one that has already sparked excitement within the tribe.
