Feed Co. Burgers Redmond

When Bill the Butcher closed up shop in historic Old Town Redmond, Heather and Scott Staples saw an opportunity to open Feed Co Burgers – an upscale burger spot that draws on Redmond’s agricultural roots for its aesthetic. The building came with a number of serious issues but the location was just too good to pass up. Demolition of the interior revealed serious structural and mechanical issues that needed to be addressed before moving ahead with the restaurant build-out. Mētis got the building rehab phase of the project underway as the design team worked to develop the concept for the restaurant – by the time the concrete had dried and the last piece of hardware was nailed off, design was coming together. Moving forward, Mētis worked closely with Heather and Scott, Soni of Root Culture Lab, Amoreena of Strata Architects, and Kim Dietz of the Redmond Landmarks Committee to develop and implement design elements that conformed to the Old Town Landmark District’s design requirements. The final design features a large salvaged slab of fir from one of Heather and Scott’s earlier restaurant projects, a retro menu display / light box fabricated in the Mētis shop, a white washed cedar wall, and siding details that highlighted the “country grange” feel of the building.
